Cole Creek Project Phase 1

Cole Creek originates in the general vicinity of the intersection of Highway 12 and Highway 62. Cole Creek flows generally in a southern direction until it reaches and crosses underneath Interstate 10. Then, it flows southward until the Creek converges with Cow Bayou. Drainage within Cole Creek is impacted by the condition of Cow Bayou, including tidal influences.

The District began the Cole Creek project during the week of May 11, 2020, and completed the improvement project from the railroad tracks just north of Cow Bayou, to Interstate 10 in January of 2021. The Cole Creek project will transition to the north side of Interstate 10 and be referred to on the website as Cole Creek Project Phase 2.

Pat Drive – East Norman Circle & West Norman Circle Area Project

This project involves the improvement of a series of drainage ditches in the area of Pat Drive, East Norman Circle, and West Norman Circle. This area is located between Interstate 10 and Highway 105, and east of Highway 62.

Sandy Creek Project

The Sandy Creek Project recently completed by the Orange County Drainage District consisted of an excavation and improvement of Sandy Creek located in Orange County Texas. Sandy Creek originates on the north side of Interstate 10, then flows underneath the Interstate in a southerly direction for approximately 3 miles until it reaches and drains into Cow Bayou. Drainage within Sandy Creek is impacted by the conditions within Cow Bayou, including tidal influences.

The Drainage District is continuing to improve ditches located on the north side of Interstate 10 Highway that drain into Sandy Creek.
