Sandy Creek Crossing Repair Project

On Thursday, April 3, 2025, the Orange County Drainage District and Orange County Road and Bridge completed the Sandy Creek Crossing Repair Project on Old Highway 90.

Sandy Creek originates on the north side of Interstate 10, then flows south underneath the Interstate and ultimately drains into Cow Bayou. Several months ago, Orange County was instructed to close Old Hwy 90 at Sandy Creek due to undermining of the crossing. As is customary, Orange County Road and Bridge, along with the District, were able to complete the repairs and reopen the crossing to the public.

The photographs below show the condition of the crossing before the Project and the repair activities necessary to restore public access along Old Hwy 90.
