OCDD Tax Abatement Policy
The Orange County Drainage District is required to renew its OCDD Tax Abatement Policy every two (2) years. The Policy was recently renewed for the upcoming two (2) year cycle. Generally, the District considers tax abatement requests as filed through the Orange County Economic Development Corporation (“EDC”) with the assistance of Orange County, Texas. Interested persons should direct their initial requests to the EDC.

In 2003, the Orange County Drainage District partnered with the political subdivisions serving Orange County, Texas to better serve the economic development needs of County. The County of Orange, the Orange County Port and Navigation District and the Cities of Bridge City, Orange, Pinehurst, Vidor and West Orange recognized the need to pool their collective resources to attract commercial and industrial investments in Orange County while creating quality opportunities for employment for the citizens of Orange County, Texas.
The Orange County Drainage District shares the commitment of all political subdivisions in Orange County, Texas to develop and support policies and programs explicitly directed at improving the business climate through specific efforts directed at creating and retaining jobs that facilitate growth and provide a stable tax base throughout Orange County, Texas. The District shares this goal while simultaneously protecting and improving the drainage infrastructure serving local residents, commercial developments and industry within the County.
